A new service between Southampton Airport and Munich — the home of global manufacturers such as BMW and Siemens — is due to start on 15 April. It will beoperated 12 times a week by BMI Regional, which will also offer connections to other European cities such as Brno in the Czech Republic and Bern in Switzerland.
Jochen Schnadt, BMI’s chief commercial officer, said: “We’re excited to be adding Southampton to our ever-growing network and connecting it to our developing Munich hub. This new service will make us an attractive and value-based choice for customers from the South East of England, while the connectivity from Munich into other European cities will certainly add to our appeal.”
Dave Lees, Southampton Airport’s managing director, said: “Scheduled air services to Munich have been requested
by many businesses, so this is great news. Key industries that have links in our two regions include aerospace, advanced engineering and IT.”
BMI will offer two flights per day from Monday to Friday, plus one on Saturdays and Sundays. One-way fares start at £72.
